Perfect ride/crash cymbal for my cajon.I am comparing this cymbal to my zildjian K cymbals. I don't think it is quite the same alloy but it does look good and the price is right. The sound is a nice easy crash comparable to the zildjians. it's true these are very thin and because of that they just don't have the nice ring of my other cymbals. edit: After a few days of testing .. I have packed the Dream Bliss up to be sent back. the china crash is just a bit too tinny and raw for my taste. oh well."Dream" cymbals? What? Well, since they're hand-made in China by people with centuries of experience making traditional cymbals, I thought I'd give it a try, and WOW! It's lush and shimmery especially for such a small cymbal (14"), and being paper-thin, it's super-responsive. Hit it with the tip for a little articulation and the shoulder for a lovely wash. It really is a pleasure to play-bliss indeed! I have it paired with a semi-lathed 13' Bosporus 13' paper-thin, which is punchy and a little darker, and they have a great contrast. If anything, ithe Bliss might be a little too responsive; it can be pretty explosive, even at medium volume, so it takes a bit of getting used to. and what a bargain, at $110, for a hand-made, quality cymbal!I have been playing Dream for about two years. The bliss series in particular. At this price point the quality is next to impossible to find. On top of that, these cymbals are hand hammered and all sound different but they all sound good. The paper thin is the first cymbal they haven't labeled a crash, a ride, or a crash ride, it's just the paper thin. It sounds a lot like a crash. If you are in a mic'd room with cymbals mic'd sound engineers love these becasue they decay fast and at a low pitch. I love the bliss series and don't see myself buying anything other than dream for a while. It looks beautiful. Sounds great, and like I said at this price you can't beat the sound you get out of these you're talking in comparison to 300 dollar cymbals. For 183? I will take that any day of the week, for a cymbal that has a cool K on it.This is a beautifully musical cymbal that has plenty of character. Wash for days w/o breaking the bank. You can crash on it, or keep it light and still get plenty of expression. If you're looking for an explosive sound that is able to cut through the mix and envelop a room with a warm wash , look no further. NOTE: If you're looking for a big bell sound, this cymbal is not for you. It doesn't take much to get a lot of sound on this ride. If you want more stick articulation on this cymbal, use a stick with a nylon tip.It was more than what I expected to be. It is a nice crisp sound amazing I would definitely buy moreIncredible wash; dreamy asfI absolutely love this cymbal. Perfect volume and timbre with perfect decay. From bell to bow, it is distinctive that really grabs my ears. I am now switching all my cymbals to Dream.
